Instead of getting out of the water like most people, Derek grabbed his snorkel and fins and found the 5 foot white tailed reef shark! Derek likes to travel and has been to many countries including, China, Japan and many European countries. He also loves to fish and hopes to go on an Alaskan fishing trip next summer. Derek excels in school achieving Principals Honor Roll throughout junior high. He loves to read especially fantasy, science fiction and historical fictions novels. Derek has blossomed during his junior high experience and his participation in the Scouting program has played a large part in his growth. Derek honors his priesthood and enjoys hanging out with his friends in the teacher’s quorum and going on ministering visits with his companion Brother Perry. As the oldest of four children, Derek has brought much happiness to his parents and is a great example to his siblings.
