Derek Woolf - Eagle Scout
Rancho Cucamonga walls were cleaned up and given a fresh coat of paint for Derek Woolf’s Eagle Project. He worked with the city staff to secure the permits, equipment and materials. Leading about 20 volunteers Derek guided them in trimming bushes to allow access to the wall starting at the corner of Hellman and Church. They painted it which replaced mismatched painted areas and graffiti. A second section of wall which was about 200 yards long on the Pacific Electric Trail was also cleaned up and painted. They were able to complete the project over a Friday evening and a Saturday morning.
Ethan Derek Woolf was born on May 16th, 2002 in Upland, Ca to Derek and Kristine Woolf. Ethan is the oldest son of Derek and Kristine and is a sibling to 3 sisters and 1 brother. Ethan is a protector by nature and is very compassionate. He will go out of his way to stand up for others, especially his friends. As a young boy, when his younger sister Abby was born, she once was laying on the carpet crying. As his mother contemplated how to get her to calm down, Ethan lied down beside her and patted her stomach to calm her down – and she stopped crying. Ethan has always had a tender heart and is loyal to those he loves. Ethan has many hobbies. He loves technology, photography, videography, sports, combat, playing musical instruments and of course, video games. He is a very quick learner and has an amazing memory. He enjoys learning new songs to play on the piano and a can memorize them quickly. Ethan is also extremely brave. He is not afraid to try new things or risk his safety for the safety of others. Ethan is also blessed with mountain lungs and legs. At age 11, he backpacked with the older scouts and summited Mt Langley – over 14k feet elevation. He is a strong mountain and rock climber and has summited Mt Langley, Mt Hood, Cucamonga Peak, Mt Baden Powell and Mt Baldy. Ethan is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is excited to serve a full time mission and to give service to others. We are proud of Ethan for his effort to complete his Eagle Scout award.
