Elder Luke Andrus

One of the most influential adults in my life has been my dad. He has always shown me what true hard work looks like and has taught me that life won’t always be easy, but that we can always meet the challenges we come to face

One of my favorite scriptures is Moroni 10:32. It basically sums up our entire purpose as missionaries and as members of the true church: to come unto Christ and be perfected in him. That is our purpose has God’s children and every day we strive to become more like our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

The best advice I have ever been given is that we ourselves, as missionaries, must truly ask ourselves if we love our Savior Jesus Christ. That should be the key part of our testimonies, for if we love Him, we will “feed his sheep” just as Jesus tells Peter, and we will never falter if we have His love as the rock of our testimony

The mission has differed for me in the fact that I thought of this as a very spiritual experience, and it is, but since we have the spirit with us so strongly almost all the time, we are often guided without even realizing it

COVID-19 has definitely affected my mission experience. I never thought in my mission that I would be sent home early due to some outside force. At first I did feel a bit robbed of my time in my mission in Mexico, but this experience has taught me patience and I know the Lord has placed me in this time specifically to learn that.
