Elder Smith likes 2 Nephi 2:24

One scripture that I like would be: 2 Nephi 2:42 "But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.

My favorite part of mission is:

Meeting all these people that I would've never meet any other way, and seeing them make steps to change their lives.

Its cool to see the change in people's lives, even after you leave. Once you see someone you really care about continue to make good steps to changing their lives. It is then when you feel like you have really made a difference for good. I guess you can't ever know the small things we do in people's lives that change them in a big way. I love this gospel!!

My testimony has grown a lot since I have been out and conversion is one of the most important things to have on a mission. It’s true that when you are converted you should go and help people around you, but also we learn in Preach My Gospel that we cannot convert anyone past our own conversion. That is very true. As I go around and talk with people, they notice the missionaries’ conversion. One person came up to us from a different church and said he was happy to find people unashamed to be followers of Christ. He then asked if we could pray together and when he prayed he stated how thankful he was that people were willing to “stick a badge on their chest” and share the gospel to people in his community. This was very touching to me because I understood that people do notice when we are converted. I would also like to add the importance of living the conversion. We are currently teaching a new member that is a young teenage boy. He is a good kid, but a normal teenager. His parents are worried because they feel as if he is missing guidelines in his life. I felt impressed to bring a For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet and bear testimony that as he follows these guidelines, he and his parents can find peace, and he will be protected from sin. This was cool to me because it helped me see two things: One was how important that pamphlet is and how much it has had an effect on my life. I have always tried to follow those guidelines as close as I could, and I realize that if I didn’t follow as well as I did, I wouldn’t be able to teach this new member the importance of it. We sometimes look at obedience as keeping us from bad situations and bad things happening to us. This is true but sometimes we justify things we do because we tell ourselves nothing bad CAN happen, and maybe nothing bad happens. But there is another side of obedience. As we are obedient, we WILL receive blessings. We are guaranteed it in D&C 82:10. So obedience isn’t just about avoiding the bad that CAN happen, but its also about the good that WILL happen. I hope we can all strive to receive these blessings as we follow the direction of the Prophet and all our leaders. I promise as we are obedient to every little rule, we WILL notice the blessings in our lives.
