Luke David Sebra is the middle child of six children. He has four brothers and one sister. His older brother received his eagle scout award which was a great example to Luke. One quality of an eagle scout that Luke has always exemplified is being a leader. He has always been a leader in every activity that he has participated in. Whether that be sports, school, scouts or family, he has always filled that role. He has excelled in sports while completing his eagle by being on the freshman football, basketball, and baseball teams. One of his gifts is being athletic and competing in sports but a greater gift that he has is having empathy for the underdog and always cheering them on. Many of Luke’s teachers and coaches have notice this quality in Luke. Even though he enjoys winning and receiving rewards, what is more important to him is seeing that his peers and teammates are being treated fairly and with respect. Luke is also a straight A student at Rancho Cucamonga High School and plays the piano. Luke’s favorite memory of Scouts was going to a Scout Camp at Camp Fiesta Island at Mission Bay in San Diego. There Luke enjoyed achieving many of his favorite merit badges, including small boat sailing, motor boating, and wilderness survival. For his eagle project, Luke made 5 sluice boxes for the Mount Baldy visitor center that are currently being used by 4th grade classes to assist in the learning about the California gold rush. With Luke’s contribution they can now know a little more of how it was really like to pan for gold. The name Luke means light and Luke has always been a shining light to those around him by being an example of choosing the right, loving those around him, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We know that he will accomplish many more significant things in his life. The qualities and experiences he has gained in the Scouting program will aid him in accomplishing those goals. We love you Luke. We are proud of you and we congratulate you on your accomplishment.
