John Chris Hadfield of Rancho Cucamonga California passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning on the 14th of April at his home at the age of 57. He awoke early that morning with difficulty breathing. The paramedics were called, but upon arrival could not detect a pulse. He was taken to San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland, but further intervention was unsuccessful.
John was born March 9, 1951 in Brigham City, Utah to John Warburton Hadfield and Kathryn May Hunsaker. He served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico, Mexico City Mission. He attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
He married Lexine Sparks in the LDS Logan, Utah Temple on May 10th 1974. They have 4 children: Becıky Hadfield & Jim Grider, Johnnie Hadfield & Shalon Clyson, Jimmy Hadfield & Holly Solie, Kim Hadfield & Jeff Stewart, & 11 grandchildren; Danaca, Kailyn, Britney, Brighton, Keaton, Collin, Kenedy, Kylie, Brooklynn, Christian and Sydney.
He served as a mission president for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Chile, Santiago West Mission from 1998-2001. He was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Honeyville Food Products, where he worked for 34 years. He was serving as the Stake President of the Rancho Cucamonga, California Stake for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His siblings include Ben and Annette Hadfield, Kathy and Mark Erwin, Jolene and Brian Wyatt, Jeffrey and Jamie Hadfield, Kim Hadfield (deceased) and Kim C. Hadfield (deceased).
